TERNITIAMA is a photographic project that wants bring to ligth an excellent place.
A work that, through the images, describes the ability of every person to positively relate with its own history and culture. This is an idea that encloses a conceptual and Visual dimension, taking shape in a series of shutter clicks representing a daily reality that blends perfectly in the space where it grows.
Faces, places and stories that the pictures tell about are the result of a careful observation of the historical memory that Terni ‘s got. A way to pay tribute to those who, in the recent years, has been able to challenge themselves and their fates to contribute becoming the city of Terni an excellent place, a universe that epitomizes the many contradictions of each person who inhabits it.
TERNITIAMA wants to be a cultural project related to the development of the territory, specifically geared to raise and develop the ideas of that place, following the thin thread indissolubly linking the people to the city where they live. Too often people feel extraneous, too often we forgot our origins and our history. That ‘s why it is important to be able to communicate the essence of each territory.
Communicating and understanding through the images make the learning process smoother and more positive. The observation is the basic principle of a pedagogical ethos to educate everyone with attention to the world around.
Seeing means looking at. Watching means “keeping, conserving”.
Retaining memory of what surrounds us can help us to get a better idea of how we can improve ourselves and the place we live in.
TERNITIAMA è un progetto fotografico che va alla scoperta di un luogo eccellente. Un’opera che, attraverso le immagini, descrive la capacità di ciascun individuo di relazionarsi in maniera positiva con la propria storia e la propria cultura. Si tratta di un’idea che racchiude una dimensione concettuale e visiva, che prende forma in una serie di scatti in cui viene rappresentata una realtà quotidiana, che si fonde perfettamente nello spazio in cui cresce. I volti, i luoghi e le storie che gli scatti raccontano sono il frutto di un’osservazione attenta della memoria storica che Terni possiede. Un modo per rendere omaggio a chi, in questi anni, ha saputo sfidare se stesso e la propria sorte riuscendo comunque a dare il suo contributo per rendere la città di Terni un luogo eccellente, un universo che incarna in sé le numerose contraddizioni di ciascuna delle persone che lo abitano. TERNITIAMA vuol essere un progetto culturale legato allo sviluppo del territorio, orientato in modo particolare a far conoscere e sviluppare le idee di quel luogo, seguendo il filo sottile che lega in maniera indissolubile la persona alla città in cui vive. Troppo spesso ci si sente estranei, troppo spesso ci si dimentica delle proprie origini e della propria storia. Per questo è importante riuscire a comunicare l’essenza stessa di ciascun territorio. Comunicare e capire, attraverso le immagini, rende il processo di apprendimento molto più fluido e positivo. L’osservazione è il principio fondamentale di un ethos pedagogico volto ad educare ciascuno all’attenzione per il mondo circostante. Vedere significa guardare. Guardare significa “custodire, conservare”. Conservare memoria di ciò che ci circonda può aiutarci ad avere un’idea più chiara di come sia possibile migliorare noi stessi e il luogo in cui viviamo.
